Accenture Allows Employees to Delay Vacations Amid Sales Push

Accenture is allowing employees to postpone some vacations as the company looks to close more business before the end of its financial year, according to a Bloomberg report.

The company has told staff they can carry unused vacation days into the next financial year, which begins on September 1. The change gives employees more flexibility to postpone time off during the final weeks of the current financial year.

Accenture’s financial year ends on August 31.

Focus on Sales Before Year-End

The decision comes after CEO Julie Sweet asked employees to focus on finding more business from clients. According to Bloomberg, Sweet told employees that shareholders are looking for a strong fourth quarter and that employees across the company can help generate more business.

Accenture has been facing a slower growth environment. In its third-quarter results, the company reported new bookings of $19.3 billion, down from $19.7 billion a year earlier. Revenue rose 6% in US dollar terms to $18.7 billion, while growth was 3% in local currency.

The company has also lowered its revenue growth forecast for the full financial year.

Revenue Growth Forecast Cut

Accenture now expects fiscal 2026 revenue growth of 3% to 4% in local currency. Its earlier forecast was 3% to 5%.

The company said its fourth-quarter revenue is expected to be between $17.75 billion and $18.4 billion. It is also continuing to see demand for services related to artificial intelligence, cloud and other technology areas.

Accenture had 798,739 employees at the end of May 2026. The company is therefore dealing with the sales push across a very large workforce.

The vacation decision does not represent a permanent change in Accenture’s leave policy. It gives employees the option to postpone vacation into the new financial year while the company works through the final weeks of fiscal 2026.

For employees, the change means they can take their unused leave later. For Accenture, it comes at a time when the company is asking its workforce to give greater attention to new business before the August 31 year-end.
